Privacy Policy

Fomi uses a device-first privacy architecture. Most processing occurs locally on your Mac, and only minimal data may be sent securely to provide core functionality such as distraction detection or subscription management.

    •    All network transmissions are encrypted in transit.

    •    We do not sell, trade, or use your data for advertising.

    •    We respect data-subject rights under applicable laws (including GDPR and CCPA).

Screen content (for distraction detection):
    •  Screenshots are temporarily captured for distraction detection.
    •  Before any transmission, Fomi performs on-device PII redaction (e.g., names, phone numbers, email addresses, IDs, financial strings) to remove personally identifiable information.
    •  The redacted data is then securely transmitted over encrypted HTTPS to trusted AI services (e.g., OpenAI API, Anthropic, Google Gemini) for one-time inference.
    •  These providers are contractually required not to retain, train on, or reuse the data after inference, and Fomi does not store the original or processed images locally or on its own servers.

Account and billing:
    •  Subscription and billing are handled exclusively through the App Store.
    •  Fomi does not process or store payment card details.

We use limited information strictly to:
    •    Provide and improve core app functionality (focus and distraction detection)
    •    Manage subscriptions and account access
    •    Offer customer support and technical troubleshooting
    •    Maintain security, reliability, and compliance

Fomi does not use personal data for targeted advertising, profiling, or resale.

To operate properly, Fomi may request the following macOS permissions:

    •    Screen Recording: enables the app to analyze visible on-screen content for distraction detection.

    •    Accessibility: used to identify the currently active application window and retrieve its title, helping determine whether your attention aligns with your stated work goal.

You may revoke these permissions at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

We work only with trusted partners essential to Fomi’s operation:

AI inference providers:

    •    Limited, redacted data may be transmitted via encrypted HTTPS to third-party AI model APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini) for classification.

    •    These services are required not to store or train on user data.

Payment processing:

    •    All payments and subscription management are handled by Apple (App Store).

    •    Fomi never accesses your payment information.

 

We do not engage in advertising networks, tracking cookies, or cross-site profiling.

You have the right to:

    •    Access your personal data

    •    Request correction or deletion

    •    Withdraw consent at any time

    •    Request data portability

    •    Object to or restrict processing

    •    Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect improvements in design or privacy safeguards.

If material changes occur, we will notify you within the app and seek renewed consent if required by law.
